
Czech Republic has granted political asylum to former minister of economy Tymoshenko government Bogdan Danylyshyn, according to 'Radio Liberty ' with reference to the official Ukrainian lawyer Marina Mahitkovu.
The fact that B. Danylyshyn filed a petition to the Czech government to grant him political asylum, had previously said Czech Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg. In this case K. Schwarzenberg said that the provision does not preclude the former Czech Minister of Economy of Ukraine for political asylum.
Meanwhile, with the January 7. Mr.. Czech court again refused to B. Danylyshyn in the release. Czech authorities feared that B. Danylyshyn, who was arrested on the basis of international order, can escape from the Czech Republic. Speaker of the Prague City Court said then that the court expects completing the prosecution of the possibility or impossibility of issuing B. Danylyshyn Ukrainian authorities.
Wanted by the Ukrainian authorities of former Economy Minister Yulia Tymoshenko's government Bogdan Danylyshyn was detained in the Czech Republic in October 2010. B. Danylyshyn is accused of committing a crime under h. 2 items. 364 ( abuse of power or position ) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which resulted in large losses. Investigators believe that the Secretary of State has caused damage amounting to UAH 4.5 million (about $ 570,000 ).
According to the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, B.. Danylyshyn illegally contributed to the tender for only one participant in the procurement of fuel for the Defense of the country and construction of parking at the airport Borispol.
